Description from the seller
Object description:
Offered is a beautiful and fully documented antique silver Kiddush cup (kiddush cup / wine goblet) from the late Tsarist Russian Empire.
This ceremonial Jewish cup is handmade and features refined, authentic engravings with diamond-patterns and stylized leaf motifs, characteristic of the bloom period of Moscow silverware around the turn of the century.
The object features an excellent and clear set of hallmarks, both on the upper rim and inside the hollow foot, which gives this lot a high degree of collectability and authenticity.
Specifications & Hallmarks:
Origin: Moscow, Empire of Russia.
Period: Exactly datable between 1899 and 1908.
Assay Master: Examined with the master mark "ИЛ" in Cyrillic script, the official signature of the well-known Moscow chief assay master Ivan Sergeyevich Lebedkin (active 1899 to 1908). [1]
Imperial hallmarks: Equipped with the oval Kokoshnik stamp with the left-facing female bust (the official Russian imperial mark used between 1899 and 1908).
Silver content: Assessed with the fineness mark "84" (84 zolotniki), equal to a silver fineness of 87.5% pure silver (.875). [1]

Condition report:
The cup is in good, authentic antique condition with a beautiful, characterful patina (not over-polished to preserve historical integrity). Shows light aging traces and superficial wear inherent to its age of over a century. No major dents or serious restorations. The silver stamps are exceptionally sharp and legible (see detail photos).
