Description:
Elegant mid-century tea service by the renowned Bavarian porcelain manufacturer Bareuther & Co., Waldsassen (Germany), dating from the 1950s–1960s.
The set features a graceful, modernist shape. The cups have a distinctive conical, asymmetric form with slender loop handles, and the teapot has a wide, rounded body. The hand-finished decor is typical of the period: delicate yellow reeds, pink bulrushes, a stylised fence and flying birds in black, all framed by fine gold rims. The lids of the teapot and sugar bowl have gilded finials.
The set comprises (23 pieces):
1 teapot with lid
1 sugar bowl with lid
1 milk jug / creamer
10 tea cups
10 saucers
Marks: green Bareuther Bavaria crown mark, additional green square mark "A PAS N" and "HERMINE" on the base; saucers also carry an impressed/painted number.
