Description from the seller
Original Masonic document of 1922, published by the Grand Orient de France, titled Report on the reactionary and clerical maneuvers, presented on behalf of the Council of the Order by F∴ Marcel Huart.
The cover also bears the motto “Liberty — Equality — Fraternity” and specifies that it is the execution of the decision of September 22 of the 1921 General Assembly.
The report constitutes a historical document on the positions taken and the institutional concerns of the Grand Orient de France at the beginning of the 1920s. The content notably addresses the army, the press, education, and issues related to clerical and reactionary movements. A historical study devoted to the Masonic archives of this period precisely mentions Marcel Huart’s report presented at the 1921 General Assembly regarding clerical propaganda.
The offered copy is kept in its original paper brochure. The condition is quite marked: paper heavily browned, numerous signs of use and storage, cover weakened with tears, small losses on the edges and significant wear to the spine.
