Description from the seller

A distinctive French pendant lamp from the 1930s, executed in the characteristic Art Deco style.

The lamp features a beautifully shaped, almost oval globular shade made of matte, pressed glass. The glass is richly decorated with a striking relief of stylized spirals, circular motifs, and geometric lines.

The combination of the soft, milky appearance of the glass and the strongly sculpted relief creates a particularly decorative effect when the lamp is lit.

The shade is suspended from a metal chain and fitted with a sleekly designed ceiling canopy. The design and decoration are characteristic of French Art Deco of the interwar period, in which geometric forms and stylized ornaments were widely used. Comparable French Art Deco pendant lamps from around 1930 were made with matte pressed glass and chain suspension.

For your convenience, the old bayonet fitting has been replaced with a European E27 fitting and the old wiring has been replaced. You can increase the height by 10 cm using the included extra chain links. Of course you can also decrease the height by removing links. Please let us know after the auction which height you want. I will adjust it to your preference.

The lamp is carefully packaged and insured for shipment.
