Monumental showcase cabinet Art Deco / Early Modernism – Deutsche Werkstätten Hellerau, Munich, late 1920s – early 1930s

Exceptional German-made showcase cabinet produced by the renowned Deutsche Werkstätten Hellerau – Munich, between the late 1920s and early 1930s. The piece, of monumental proportions, is entirely veneered in precious Macassar ebony, with a geometric grain arranged in a herringbone pattern on the base surface, lending a visually refined effect. The upper section features four large glass doors with adjustable internal shelves, while the lower section consists of a sideboard with dark lacquered drawers and side compartments, equipped with original metal handles of elegant sinuous design. Inside the door is the original circular metal plate stamped “Deutsche Werkstätten A.G. Hellerau – München,” an authentic seal of quality and provenance from one of the most important workshops of the Deutscher Werkbund.

Conditions: solid and intact structure, with a splendid patina from the period and original glazing. Shows slight signs of wear appropriate to its age. The locks do not engage with a key, but function mechanically.
