Description from the seller
Marinisa – Set of 2 handmade vintage table lamps – Spain, ca. 1970–1980 – brass/gold-tone
A particularly decorative and elegant set of two matching vintage table lamps by Marinisa, manufactured in Pedro Abad, Córdoba, Spain. The lamps date from ca. the 1970s–1980s and are characterized by their pronounced gold-tone appearance, classic styling, and pleasing symmetry. Similar Marinisa table lamps from Pedro Abad are likewise dated to this period.
The lamp bases are built from a square base with above it a beautifully profiled, rounded foot and a tall cylindrical column. The varying thicknesses and decorative mouldings give the design an architectural, almost neoclassical character. The glossy gold/brass finish catches the light in a particularly beautiful way and creates a luxurious appearance.
Both lamps are equipped with matching conical lampshades in a warm champagne/salmon color, finished with a gold-colored metal trim along both the upper and lower rims. When the lamps are lit, the shades glow warmly and a particularly atmospheric golden light emerges. The combination of the shiny metal and the soft, warm shades gives the set a pronounced Hollywood Regency / hotel-chic look, while the sleek cylindrical form also suits 1970s interiors.
Inside the lamp shades there is the original manufacturer mark with “marinisa – PEDRO ABAD (Córdoba)”, which supports the Spanish origin of the set. Marinisa lamps from Pedro Abad are also offered in other documented Catawiki lots as Spanish vintage lighting.
The two identical lamps form a particularly striking decorative pair. They are, for example, very suitable as lighting on two bedside tables, on a long sideboard or console, or on either side of a sofa. Precisely as a pair, the symmetrical design comes into its own.
