The Voigtländer Brillant is an influential pre-war pseudo twin-lens reflex camera introduced in 1932 by the renowned German manufacturer Voigtländer in Braunschweig. Initially produced with a stamped metal housing before transitioning to Bakelite, the Brillant democratized waist-level medium format photography by offering the look and handling of an expensive TLR at an accessible price point. Using standard 120 roll film to capture square 6x6 negatives, it features a large, exceptionally bright reflective viewfinder that gave the camera its iconic name. Clean, operational examples from this era are highly valued by collectors of classic German camera design and early analog photography history.
