This concerns the iconic and ingenious "Original Columbus Bilateral" model, produced in the early 20th century (c. 1910–1930). This model is a beloved collector's item thanks to its decorative and clever bilateral pendulum system. The scale is equipped with two mirror-image measuring scales and counterweights, designed to weigh both lighter letters with high precision (upper arc, 0–100 grams) and heavier mail pieces and small packages (lower arc, up to 500 grams).
