Sculpture, 3 déesses - 15 cm - Terracotta

This lot consists of a set of three stylized anthropomorphic terracotta figurines inspired by primitive idols and fertility goddesses from Mediterranean antiquity. The naked female silhouettes, highly geometrized, are reminiscent in their shapes of prehistoric Anatolian or Cycladic culture idols. Each piece has a textured surface treatment imitating an excavation patina, with a characteristic solid brick-red pigment application covering the entire back of each statuette. This red-painted back contrasting with the dark, green, and light shades of the respective front sides is typical of workshop productions creating archaeological souvenirs and museum replicas in Greece or Cyprus. These highly decorative pieces were produced during the second half of the twentieth century, likely between the 1970s and 1990s. The objects do not bear any factory markings or signatures. The set of three pieces has a combined total weight of 300 g. Regarding individual metric dimensions, the height of the statuettes ranges from 11 cm to 15 cm, with a uniform thickness of approximately 2 cm and a maximum width reaching about 12 cm for the largest model. All three sculptures are in an excellent overall state of conservation. The terracotta shows no cracks, chips or structural damage, and the colored coatings as well as the grainy surface patina have fully retained their original aesthetic appearance.
