AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Rare travel-writing casket from the Napoleonic III era dating to the second half of the 19th century, around 1860.

The case is made of white-lacquered wood, a relatively uncommon variant for period objects, embellished with silvered-metal decorations featuring scrolling vines, foliage, and Rococo-inspired motifs.

The upper part presents two compartments intended for inkstands, placed on either side of a central adorned panel.

The interior retains its elegant, compartmental arrangement in crimson red, with several cubicles that once served to store quills or writing accessories.

In good condition, just a small loss of silvered metal on one side, and the interior in fair condition.
