Candleholder - Cold painted bronze - Blackamoor-style holder

Beautiful decorative cold-painted bronze Blackamoor figurine of a servant holding a bowl. It can be used to hold a tea light candle or a business card.

This decorative art is known as Blackamoor (or Morenkunst). This style originated in 17th-century Venice and was especially popular in Europe in the 19th and 20th centuries.

The figurines often depict people from North Africa or the Middle East (historically referred to as 'Moors') in the role of servant, page, or butler. They often wear exotic, colorful clothing and a turban.
