Bronze zoomorphic figure, Roman period

Small representation of a caprid —goat or ibex— made in cast bronze, with a stylized body, horned head and surface decoration through incisions and reliefs. It presents a dynamic posture and a schematic modeling characteristic of small bronzes for ornamental use or possibly as an appliqué on furniture, harness or another object.

It preserves a dark green and brown patina, earthy deposits and surface wear in accordance with its age.

Chronology (approximate): Roman period, approx. 1st–3rd centuries AD
Material: bronze.
Typology: zoomorphic figure/applique.
Representation: goat or ibex.
Condition: wear, corrosion and superficial concretions; main structure preserved.
Provenance: private collection.
