This is a splendid copper-engraved map titled "Portugalliae et Algarbiae Regna," created by the renowned German cartographer Matthäus Seutter around 1730-1745 in Augsburg (Augusta). This specific edition under examination bears at the bottom the imprint of the publisher and geographer Tobias Conrad Lotter, Seutter's son-in-law and successor.

Territories depicted: The main map shows in detail the Kingdom of Portugal and the Algarve with its historical administrative divisions, extending eastward toward the neighboring Spanish provinces (Galicia, Castile, Estremadura, and Andalusia).

The Brazil inset: In the lower left there is an important panel depicting the map of Brazil ("Mappa Brasiliae Regnum in America Meridionali"), which at the time was the richest and largest colony of the Portuguese Empire.

Decorative elements: The work is enriched by a large allegorical cartouche at the top left, featuring historical and mythological figures, putti, ships, and heraldic emblems that celebrate Portuguese maritime and colonial power.

Coloring: This is a print with splendid period watercolor coloring, applied by hand to distinguish the borders of the different regions and provinces.

On the lower margin stands the original editorial note: "Augsp. in Verlag bey Albr. Georg Zötter, Geogr. in Augspurg"
