Beautiful pectoral plate. - toussian - Burkina Faso (No reserve price)

Pectoral Plaque - Lobi / Toussian

The Toussian (Toussia, Tusyan) live in the extreme southwest of Burkina Faso.

The Sénoufo, Turka and Bobo are the best-known ethnic groups that surround them.

Numbering about 22,000, the Toussian do not form a homogeneous group, even if their small number might suggest otherwise.

They are closely related to the Sénoufo and speak a very similar language.

Their art (bronze work, more specifically) is closely related to that of their Lobi and Gan neighbors.

Voici une très belle amulette ayant la forme d'une plaque pectorale de grand format en bois et perles de verre.
