Portico clock - Wood, Bronze, Brass - 1850-1900

Beautiful French portico clock from the Charles X period / early Louis-Philippe, dating from the first half of the 19th century (around 1825–1840).

This elegant clock rests on a blackened wooden framework adorned with fine marquetry inlays in a scrolling motif.
It is supported by four twisted columns framing a white enamel dial with Roman numerals, surrounded by a rich gilt-bronze mount finely chiseled.

The original mechanical movement is complete and functional.
The clock is accompanied by its decorative gilded-bronze pendulum, its winding key, and its striking bell.

This piece testifies to the craftsmanship of 19th-century French workshops and constitutes a beautiful decorative object as much as a fine example of antique clockmaking.
