French silver 5-franc coin, struck in 1868 under the Second Empire, depicting Napoleon III with a laureate head.
Obverse: portrait of Napoleon III facing left, wearing a laurel crown. Inscription "NAPOLEON III EMPEREUR". Barre signature beneath the portrait.
Reverse: French imperial crowned heraldry, surrounded by the Legion of Honour collar, with crossed sceptre and hand of justice. Inscription "EMPIRE FRANÇAIS", value 5 F and year 1868.
