Description from the seller

Rare Fluorescent Scapolite – Reversible Vivid Blue UV Color Change
Badakhshan Mines, Afghanistan | 46 grams | Natural & Untreated
Offering a rare and visually fascinating lot of natural Scapolite from the renowned Badakhshan Mines of Afghanistan, with a total weight of approximately 46 grams.
The most remarkable feature of this lot is its strong and reversible reaction to UV light. In normal daylight, the Scapolite appears natural white to very light-colored, while under UV illumination it changes dramatically to a vivid, sapphire-like blue color. The blue appearance develops within seconds under UV light, and after the UV source is removed, the material gradually returns to its original white color.
The photographs clearly demonstrate this unusual phenomenon, showing both the original white appearance and the vivid blue UV-induced color.
Lot Highlights:
Mineral: Natural Scapolite
Origin: Badakhshan Mines, Afghanistan
Total Weight: Approximately 46 grams
Color in normal light: Natural white / very light
UV reaction: Vivid blue
Reaction: Strong and reversible
Transparency: Excellent
Lustre: Very attractive and bright
Treatment: Natural / untreated
Pieces: Small rough crystals and fragments
Potential: Suitable for collectors, fluorescence enthusiasts, research, and potentially cutting selected pieces
Although the individual pieces are relatively small, many show excellent transparency, attractive lustre and a beautiful internal appearance. The combination of natural Scapolite, Afghan origin and its striking reversible UV response makes this an especially interesting pieces lot for collectors.
Please note: The blue coloration shown in the UV photographs is not the natural daylight color of the Scapolite; it is the result of its reaction to UV light. The material returns to its original appearance after the UV illumination is removed.A highly unusual collector's lot of Afghan Scapolite with an exceptional reversible UV color phenomenon, offered with photographs documenting both states.
