The specimen retains a satin luster, well-defined reliefs, and small scattered marks in keeping with the MS63 grade. Böttger was a key figure in the development of the first European hard-paste porcelain. Initially 100,313 pieces were minted, of which 33,661 were melted, leaving an effective issue of 66,652 specimens.
