AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Very handsome and imposing West African manilla bracelet (currency).

A detailed description will be provided later, but for now I am giving you a description of all 24 listings of objects whose provenance remains exceptional, a scientific and primitive art treasure.
Discover among my 24 listings a unique historical ensemble, kept intact and preserved within my family for more than 70 years, because a former member of my family worked at the prestigious Bureau of Geological and Mining Research (the BRGM) during the 1950s. These pieces are part of a spectacular field collection.
The collection is documented by its wooden transport case with colonial inscriptions BRGM Natitingou-Dahomey, the former name of present-day Benin; it is also documented by an exceptional set of 26 geological maps with explanatory notes dating from surveys carried out between 1935 and 1961.
You will find among my 24 sales an exceptional King Manilla weighing more than 3.8 kg.
Each lot (24 in total) is a fragment of this historic geological expedition.

Magnificent manilla in brass or bronze, from West Africa, having served as an ethnic exchange currency or dowry.
Remarkable chiseling and engraving work with traditional motifs, its weight is quite remarkable as it weighs 570 grams.

Excellent vintage condition in its original patina.

Authentic collectible piece.
