French late 19th‑century marquetry side table in Louis XV style, made of wood and brass with floral marquetry, 73 cm high, 45 cm wide, and 45 cm deep, featuring a lobed top, a brass gallery and bronzed decorative mounts.
Description from the seller
Elegant French end-of-19th-century side table, inspired by the refined lines of the Louis XV style. Made in noble woods with a careful floral marquetry decoration, it features a lobed-shaped top surface adorned with delicate botanical motifs and a central medallion that highlights the rich color of the different veneers used. The whole piece is framed by a fine brass gallery and enriched with ornamental applications of gilt bronze that run along the waist and terminate at the legs, lending the distinguished character typical of French cabinetmaking of the period.
The structure rests on four cabriole legs with elegant curvature, connected by a lower shelf also decorated with marquetry, whose sinuous silhouette harmonizes with the main tabletop. This second level shows visible wear and partial finish loss, as seen in the photographs, a trace of the passage of time that attests to the piece’s authenticity and historical use without detracting from its decorative appeal.
Due to its balanced proportions and the quality of its ornamental details, this table is ideal as a bedside table, occasional table, or accent piece in classical, eclectic, or French-inspired interiors. It preserves the charm and elegance of late 19th-century French decorative production, combining the warmth of inlaid wood with the subtle sheen of its bronze and brass mounts.
Insured shipping and careful packing.
