Maurer writes:
In this publication – an accompanying catalog – we present new lighting, objects and a portion of our projects.
"Nothing is duller than following the same path, the same shiny traces of design. A form of design in which no personality can be discerned is sterile and superficial. I feel lucky and blessed: I have been working for my own account and risk for forty years and am still independent. My freedom is only limited by the more than seventy people who must be paid every month. But my fire still burns brightly.
Our work – our projects – is becoming increasingly extensive and challenging. From commissions for public spaces, such as metro stations, to unique creations by commission and works of art. Ideas come in abundance and easily disappear, but they form only a small part of the total work. Realization and production are the heavy work. That is impossible to do alone; a team is needed for that. My team supports me enormously; they are skilled and always up for an adventure".
