Description from the seller

Sculpture "Cervidé" by Georges Lavroff, an elegant piece in silvered bronze that will bring refinement and character to your interior.

Georges Lavroff is a leading figure of Russian animal sculpture of the Art Deco movement. Originating from Siberia, his stay in Paris in the 1930s marks a turning point in his career. His animals with cubical faces, always dynamic and full of grace, are successfully exhibited at the Salon des Indépendants and the Salon d'Automne. Upon returning to Russia, he is imprisoned by the Stalinist regime and sentenced to five years in a labor camp before being rehabilitated and recognized by his homeland.
