Description from the seller
Boch Frères Kéramis, La Louvière – 36-piece Art Deco dinnerware set – ca. 1927–1930
Beautiful and extensive 36-piece Belgian tableware set from Boch Frères Kéramis, La Louvière, dating from the late 1920s.
The dinnerware is executed in bright white earthenware with an elegant continuous floral border in ocher yellow, orange, blue and black, finished with fine gold-colored rims. The large covered Terrines with graceful handles and the pedestal/or footed serving dish give the whole a particularly decorative and stately appearance.
The various pieces carry two different original factory stamps from Boch / Kéramis – Boch Frères La Louviere-Made in Belgium. The Kéramis stamp of this type was registered in 1920 and 1927, placing the dinnerware nicely within Belgian interwar production.
The set consists of 36 pieces:
* 3 small plates, Ø ca. 20 cm
* 10 deep plates, Ø ca. 24 cm
* 15 flat plates, Ø ca. 24 cm
* 1 round serving bowl, Ø ca. 29 cm
* 3 oval serving dishes: ca. 31.5 cm, 34.5 cm and 37 cm
* 1 covered soup bowl/terrine, ca. 23 × 13 cm
* 1 large covered terrine, ca. 31 × 9 cm
* 1 salad bowl, ca. 25 × 10 cm
* 1 footed dish, ca. 22.5 × 13.5 cm
For its age the dinnerware is in a very nice vintage condition. There are normal signs of use and aging, including local light wear to the gold decoration. The photos are an integral part of the description.
A very decorative and rare large Belgian Boch Kéramis ensemble, appealing to collectors and beautiful for a classic or eclectic table setting.
Period: ca. 1920-1930
Origin: La Louvière, Belgium
