1. Large Oval Hofleverancier Plaquette
This refined, highly detailed shield radiates the royal status of the Lips firm. At the center is the Dutch national coat of arms with the lions and the motto "Je Maintiendrai." Special feature: It bears the text "Hofleverancier" and the specific royal mentions of both "H.M. de Koningin" (Wilhelmina) and "H.M. de Koningin Weduwe" (Emma). This places the shield historically in the late 19th or early 20th century. Motto: In the upper right, the text bar contains the Latin motto "Palma Sub Pondere Crescit" (the palm tree grows against oppression) – a symbolic reference to the burglary- and fire-resistance of the safes. Origin: Marked on the bottom with "Dordrecht (Holland)". Dimensions: approx. 21.5 cm wide (including mounting ears) x 17.5 cm high. Back: Fitted with old, authentic inventory markings ("K.K." and number "28").

2. Round Sphinx Emblem
The iconic round brand shield with the famed Lips-Sphinx (Assyrian winged bull with a human head). The sphinx symbolized the incorruptible and impenetrable guardian of treasures and secrets. This heavy shield often served as the central decoration or a rotating keyhole cover on the outside of the safe door.
Material: Heavy cast metal with a characteristic dark brown/copper-colored coating and a beautifully thick relief.
Dimensions: Diameter exactly 13.5 cm.
Back: Shows the original rough casting structure with a nicely time-worn patina.

Both plaques are in very neat, original condition with minimal signs of aging inherent to their age and industrial history. They have not been excessively polished, allowing the authentic appearance and the stunning patina to be perfectly preserved.
