Clock - Jaeger-LeCoultre - Metal lacquered - 1960-1970 - Victor Hugo Avenue

A beautiful and very famous 8-day mantel clock by Jaeger-LeCoultre, shaped like an old street lantern from the 60s. The clock comes in many variants and with several street names. The case is always a metal die-cast, painted or gilded. Depending on distribution, Jaeger-LeCoultre has sold the clock under the brands “LeCoultre” and “Jaeger.” Different movements have been used. Simple version, version with alarm, with Recital alarm, and with an additional day/night display (the respective references and calibers see the specific clock).

The lantern shade comes in clear acrylic, beige opaque, or white opaque. Variants of the lantern: gilded or painted in black, green, and very rarely in wine red. The streets featured are mainly the “Streets of Paris.” The absolutely most common street is the “Rue de la Paix” in Paris. Other streets/places in Paris: Avenue Victor Hugo, Place de l’Opéra, Place de Concorde, and Rue Royale.
