This is a vintage mid-20th-century Chinese porcelain baluster vase, featuring hand-painted polychrome decoration of birds and floral branches in a famille rose.

The vase has a classic baluster silhouette with a flared rim. The neck, the collar and the base are embellished with intricate, repeating geometric and stylised black borders.

The central scene depicts a long-tailed bird perched on a gnarled branch, surrounded by lush pink peonies, yellow chrysanthemums, and green foliage. The neck and base are adorned with delicate geometric or diaper borders.
Very fine and delicate bird decoration on flowery branches.

The reverse side of this vase feature a hand-painted classical poem (calligraphy panel) and a red stamped chop seal mark on the underside of the base
