Description:
Elegant antique stoneware vase from the Villeroy & Boch manufactory at Mettlach, bearing under the base the manufacturer's mark as well as the model number 2435 and the mention Geschützt.

The vase presents a plump shape with a constricted and undulating neck, characteristic of decorative productions of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Very beautiful stylized floral decoration, composed of large light-colored flowers on a dark background, enhanced with blue, red and ochre details. The whole presents an aesthetic typical of the Art Nouveau / Jugendstil period.

The piece is old and shows signs of wear compatible with its age. Notably, there is a chip/loss visible on one side, well shown in the photographs. The interior also shows signs of use and deposit.
