Indovino Venezia are objects of Italian antique glass collecting and connoisseurship, dating roughly to the first decade of the 20th century. Decorated with acid work, wheel engravings or details and finishes themed. The glasses have a slightly flared shape (inverted cone trunk) resting on a thick and robust base with a ring. The decoration is in Baroque style with the engraving of a lady with a cavalier. Vetreria SIVA, founded and directed in Venice during the 20th century (with production particularly active and appreciated in the first half of the century, around the 1910s-1930s), the company of Mario Indovino specialized in creating artistic glasses and high-quality table sets. SIVA was famous for its mastery in acid engraving and hand finishes. This technique allowed the characteristic cameo, velvety and slightly shaded effect, perfect for vegetal figures, foliate and dynamic (such as the juggler/dancer on the balloon cup). The pieces bore the original paper label: an oval or rectangular label with the inscription SIVAM INDOVINO VENEZIA. Highly sought after in the market of antiques and fine artistic glass collecting.
