Made in refined transparent glass blown with a Venetian mouth, each glass offers an enchanting hand-engraved satin motif, harking back to the sophisticated styles of the XVIII century. The engraved motifs, with interweaving patterns, leaves, scrolls, and noble figures, confer a timeless charm that will captivate attention on any occasion. Indovino Venezia are objects of Italian antique glassmaking and glass collecting, dating approximately to the first decade of the 20th century. Decorated with acid engraving, wheel engravings, or details and finishes with themed motifs. The glasses have a slightly flared shape (inverted truncated cone) resting on a thick, sturdy foot with a ring. The decoration is in Baroque style with an engraving of a lady with a cavalier. Vetreria SIVA, founded and based in Venice during the 20th century (with a particularly active and appreciated production in the first half of the century, around the 1910s–1930s), the Mario Indovino company specialized in creating artistic glassware and high-quality table services. SIVA was famous for its skill in acid engraving and hand finishes. This technique allowed for the characteristic cameo effect, velvety and softly shaded, perfect for botanical figures, foliate designs and dynamic motifs (such as the juggler/dancer on the balloon goblet). The pieces bore the original paper label: an oval or rectangular label with the inscription SIVAM INDOVINO VENEZIA.
