Description from the seller
LUXEMBOURG. Brussels. 2½ Cents. 1901. Adolfo (1890-1905)
- Value: 2½ Cents.
- Reign: Adolfo (1890-1905).
- Year: 1901.
- Inscriptions: Obverse: GRAND-DUCHY OF LUXEMBOURG. Reverse: 2½ CENTIMES · 1901 · BARTH.
- Grade: MS62 BN (NGC).
The obverse features the crowned shield of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, with the lion rampant with a forked tail inside an ornate cartouche; the reverse displays the denomination and date within a crown formed by laurel and oak branches, design by François Barth-Wahl. The specimen retains sharp reliefs, surfaces of chocolate-brown color and some original coppery highlights, along with small marks and tonal variations compatible with the grade MS62 BN. Although minted at the Brussels Royal Mint, the piece retains by error the mint marks of the Utrecht mint — sword and caduceus —.
Disclaimer: For orders shipped outside the European Union, I want to leave absolutely clear that I do ship from Spain, which means that if the package is sent to any country outside the European Union, and/or inside EU that has special tax agreement (example: Canary Islands), it might be stopped in your local customs and they might ask you to pay taxes. This is a customs legal procedure and it is completely out of our control. Thanks for your understanding.
