Description from the seller
Beautiful and authentic antique crystal wine carafes, also known as a Claret Jug, executed in the elegant historicist style with Neorenaissance features. This stylish piece of silverware dates from the period between 1882 and 1933. The decanters are in a lovely antique condition. The silver mount carries a rich history and bears a very interesting set of official hallmarks: Swiss hallmarks (bear): this state hallmark guarantees that the mount is made of solid Swiss silver with a fineness of .875. Dutch import and warranty marks: bearing the Dutch fineness mark (the rampant lion) and the well-known Minerva head (helmet). Office mark (letter B): the letter B in the helmet indicates that the decanters were officially inspected and certified at the National Testing Office in Utrecht at import. Condition: the crystal and silverwork are structurally in good antique condition with no fractures. There is some light historical tarnish on the bottom of the decanters, appropriate to their age and use.
