This teapot is an elegant example of English silverware "Sheffield Plate" (or silver plated) from the Edward Sheffield collection, distributed by the historic retailer Pearce & Sons.
Historical Details and Features
Origin: Produced in Sheffield, England, the world center of silverware.
Retailer: Pearce & Sons was a renowned jeweler and silversmith with locations in Leeds, York and Leicester, active from the late 19th to the early 20th century. They often commissioned high-quality pieces from Sheffield factories for their collection.
Style: The body is richly decorated in relief with floral motifs, scrolls and acanthus leaves, typical of Victorian or late Victorian taste (second half of the 1800s).
