Sankyo - Toy pram Tomato pull toy - Japan

A beautiful and rare piece of 1970s nostalgia: a vintage plastic musical pull-toy in the shape of a tomato (often referred to as an apple) with a charming, anthropomorphic face. This iconic pop-art baby toy was manufactured in 1974 by the renowned Japanese brand Sankyo (made in Hong Kong). When the cord with the ring is pulled, the internal music box plays a lullaby. While the music plays, the characteristic googly eyes mechanically move back and forth. This type of pop-art toy is highly sought after by collectors of Space Age decor, retro design, and nostalgic toys from the seventies.
