Ancient Copone / Liturgical Pisside in Blown Glass and Gold – IHS Symbol
Elegant and refined liturgical cope (or pisside) for the altar, made of transparent blown glass and hand-worked, dating from the late 19th or early 20th century.
The piece is embellished on the central body with geometric and floral decorations in gilt that frame the Christological monogram "IHS" (Jesus Hominum Salvator).
The lid, also made of glass, features a top handle surmounted by a Latin cross finished in gold.
This type of container was traditionally used on altar canons for the storage of consecrated hosts or as a purificator.
A unique collectible piece, ideal for lovers of sacred art and religious antiques.
