HISTORY/OVERVIEW:
The Mercedes-Benz CLK 55 AMG (C208) represents an iconic era of AMG performance defined by high-displacement, naturally aspirated V8 engines and rear-wheel drive dynamics. Under the bonnet resides a 5.4-litre AMG V8 producing 354 hp. This particular 2001 example was sent to the renowned German tuner VÄTH at 87,500 km for substantial enhancement. During this process, the engine was completely overhauled/replaced with every component renewed, and the transmission was replaced. The top speed limiter was officially raised to 280 km/h by Mercedes-Benz AMG. Currently showing 157,760 km on the odometer, the vehicle is presented in excellent mechanical and aesthetic condition. The car comes with a comprehensive history file comprising nearly an entire A4 binder with invoices from VÄTH and Lorinser supporting the total investment of €23,000.
BODYWORK/PAINT:
The bodywork and paint are in very good condition, presenting very well visually and reflecting the care and mileage of the vehicle. The iconic grand tourer coupe body lines are complemented by subtle, authentic AMG styling cues.
INTERIOR:
The cabin is preserved in very good condition, retaining the atmosphere of a early-2000s luxury gran turismo. It features high-quality materials and sport AMG accents, exhibiting only minimal, natural signs of wear consistent with its age and mileage.
MECHANICS:
The 5.4-litre V8 AMG engine delivers 354 hp. At 87,500 km, VÄTH performed a complete engine overhaul/replacement, renewing all internal components, and installed a replacement gearbox. The suspension has been upgraded with new components from Lorinser. The electronic speed limiter was recalibrated to 280 km/h by AMG. The car is in excellent mechanical condition throughout.
DOCUMENTS:
The vehicle is supplied with extensive documentation filling nearly a complete A4 binder. This includes official Mercedes-Benz AMG paperwork for the speed limiter modification as well as complete invoices and service history records from VÄTH and Lorinser.
The vehicle can be viewed and picked up. Bids do not include transportation or export costs unless stated otherwise. Arranging transport, transfer of ownership, and any applicable export/COC fees are the responsibility of the buyer.

Disclaimer
Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
