Bowl - Porcelain - Fruit colander

Chinese porcelain bowl decorated with the 'Hundred Antiques' pattern (Bai gu in Chinese) with a vase in the center of the scene. It was designed specifically for small, delicate fruits (such as strawberries, blackberries, grapes, or lychees) and was used to wash the fruit and then as a drainer; through the holes the water drained away and underneath they placed a dish to collect the water. It has a hairline crack and some edge damage. A rare piece.
