Description from the seller
Magnificent pair of four-armed candelabra, crafted in solid glass and brass by the renowned French house Schneider. Both pieces are signed “Schneider France” on the base and constitute an excellent example of mid-20th-century decorative arts and of a design philosophy that combines function with decorative character.
A particularly attractive set for collectors of French glass, Mid-Century Modern design, Schneider pieces and 20th-century decorative arts.
DESCRIPTION
Its design, characteristic of French Mid-Century Modern, stands out for its organic and biomorphic forms, which flow through the glass creating a highly dynamic composition.
The pair stands out as much for its functionality as for its decorative appeal and for meticulous craftsmanship that reflects the refinement characteristic of 1950s French design.
Each candelabrum features four crystal arms that emerge from the base in organic, sinuous shapes. The arms are topped with candle holders and their corresponding gilded brass bobèches, creating an attractive contrast between the transparency and luminosity of the crystal and the warmth of the metal.
The transparency and volume of the glass generate an interesting play of light and reflections, enhancing its shapes and adding depth to the composition.
A pair designed both to adorn a table and to serve as a decorative feature in any space, where its shapes and the luminosity of the glass take center stage.
DIMENSIONS:
Maximum width: 20 cm
Maximum height: 19 cm
CONDITION:
Excellent vintage condition, with no breaks or missing parts. They display slight superficial signs of use and minor wear on the brass, consistent with their age and visible in the photographs.
ADDITIONAL NOTES:
** The photographs form part of the description.
** The measurements and final weight stated correspond to the secure packaging configuration, essential to ensure these pieces are properly protected during transport.
