Beautiful and classic stoneware tea canister produced by the renowned Royal Tichelaar Makkum (Friesland, Netherlands).
This piece is finished in the beloved and rarer "Zwart Makkum" decor. The tea canister features a deep black background enriched with refined, hand-painted polychrome floral motifs in oval cartouches and graceful corner decorations.
The four sides are in relief.
On the underside the tea canister is fully authentically marked with the Makkum mark, model number 478 and the hand-written initials of the master painter.
