Italy - Lot of 68 Historic Postcards from Veneto (1901-1946) - All Circulated - Rarity, Printing Errors, Militaria and Foreign Destinations
Collector's lot consisting of 68 vintage postcards from Veneto, all circulated between 1901 and 1946. The lot stands out for editorial quality (Scrocchi, Brocca, Cappello, Zardini, Ghedina), the interest in postal history (foreign rates, royal armies, censorship) and the presence of variants/errors that are sought after.
Division of the Lot by Province:
• Venice - Includes the true night photograph by G. Brocca (1937) with double postmark Venice-Brescia Railway for Manchester (UK); a rare Bucini/Scrocchi watercolor (1901) with the stamp inverted (epoque’s love code); Belle Époque pieces (1911-1915) including two rare views with the “felze bianco” and one with a steamboat; 1920s pieces with historical propaganda stamps from the “Post Office District”; 1930s pieces with foreign destinations (Berlin, Bohemia) and 3 postcards with the coveted linear stamp “La Lotteria di Merano will make you a millionaire.” Note: there is a postcard with a rare postal date stamp error (
