Val Saint Lambert Luxval grand serving piece in transparent pressed glass with six hexagonal compartments, model no. 29, circa 1935, Art Deco, Belgium.
Description from the seller
Val Saint Lambert – Luxval – Grand Deco Etched Six-Compartment Ivory Definite? No, hang on.
Magnificent and imposing six-compartment serving piece in transparent pressed glass, crafted by the prestigious Belgian manufactory Val Saint Lambert, for its famous Luxval collection, circa 1935.
This authentic Art Deco piece corresponds to model no. 29 of the “Service with broad, flat ribs A,” reproduced on plate 17 of the Luxval historical catalogue of 1935.
Its remarkable hexagonal composition features six compartments adorned with deep radiating ribs, arranged around an elegant central faceted knop. Its beaded rim and geometric lines create stunning plays of light, hallmarks of the 1930s Art Deco aesthetic.
The Luxval collection is notably associated with the creations of Charles Graffart and René Delvenne, two important figures in Belgian glasswork of the period.
As both a collectibles piece and a table art object, this large serving piece can hold hors d’oeuvres, dried fruits or mignardises, or simply be displayed to admire the richness of its ornament.
