Magnificent Art Nouveau lamp! Curved iron lamp base in wrought iron. The lamp base features a vegetal pattern (vine leaves and a grape cluster typical of the Art Nouveau style).

The lamp is adorned with a very rare smoky glass tulip in orange and black tones, from master glassmaker André Delatte. Estimated period of creation: 1921/1933.

André Delatte (1887/1953) trained with the FRÈRES MULLER in Lunéville, with whom he was very close; he also collaborated with Legras. He created his own company in Jarville-la-Malgrange in 1921. Facing growing success, he also expanded his business to Jarville and Nancy. The economic crisis of the 1930s weakened the company, which closed its various production sites between 1933 and 1938. Today, André Delatte is a recognized and globally respected glassmaker and is considered one of the major players in the transition from Art Nouveau to Art Deco.

The tulip is in generally good condition, but there is a small chip at the neck and also a fire enamel flake (paint loss) near the neck. Apart from these two “defects” that are not visible when the tulip is mounted on the lamp, the tulip is in very good condition.
