Refined and elegant oval cameo, crafted and signed entirely by hand on Madagascar Cassis shell by the Master engraver Scala of Torre del Greco, the world capital of shell carving.

The piece depicts a romantic and allegorical bucolic scene, portraying the two classical figures of Eros and Psyche, finely interwoven among large floral buds. The high and bas-relief work perfectly exploits the color contrast between the figure's porcelain-white and the dark background of the shell.
