Authentic vintage advertising champagne cooler G.H. Mumm & Co. – Cordon Rouge, made in Belgium by Selecta.
Very beautiful old champagne cooler in aluminium, made for the famous House G.H. Mumm of Reims.
The piece features on one face its remarkable original advertising plaque G.H. Mumm & Co. – Cordon Rouge – Reims – Champagne Brut, in red, white, and black.
The other face is adorned with the famous red Cordon Rouge lettering.
The Cordon Rouge is one of the historical emblems of the Mumm House: its origin dates back to 1876, when Georges Hermann Mumm chose to decorate his Brut cuvée with a red ribbon.
The cooler has a nice silhouette typical of 1960s-1970s advertising design, with a horizontally ribbed aluminium body and two large side handles shaped like buttons.
Under the base is the original circular marking: “MADE IN BELGIUM – BY SELECTA – LOT”, a particularly interesting element allowing identification of its Belgian manufacture.
Dimensions: height 20 cm; top diameter 20 cm; weight 410 g.
Condition: authentic vintage condition.
