The composition depicts a monumental symbolic Temple opened to the sky, built through classical columns, steps, geometries and a checkered floor. In the center of the scene rises a triangular structure, while at the top dominates a large Eye inscribed in a triangle, from which a beam of light radiates vertically through the entire work.

The image is organized along a precise central axis: from the Eye at the top, the Light descends through the Temple until it reaches the floor. This construction symbolically suggests a path of revelation and knowledge, wherein what belongs to a higher dimension is progressively translated into experience, measure and inner work.

The large triangular shape that dominates the background further reinforces the geometric character of the piece. The triangle, in its essentiality, evokes stability, order and harmony, while its repetition within the scene creates a sequence of thresholds that ideally lead from the material plane to the plane of knowledge.

The columns mark the space as elements of passage and support. On their summits appear different celestial and luminous symbols – including the Moon, the Sun, a flame and a dark star – which introduce the theme of the plurality of powers and their necessary harmonization within a broader order.

In the central part, the staircase leads to a triangular structure decorated with the Square and Compasses, placed as the convergence point of the path. The ascent thus takes on the value of an initiatic metaphor: each step suggests progressive advancement, obtained through discipline, study and inner transformation.

The checkered floor recalls the duality of experience: light and shadow, positive and negative, matter and spirit. The initiate is not called to ignore this opposition, but to understand it and to seek a balance capable of transforming opposites into complementary parts of the same path.

In the foreground appear the Square, Compasses, geometric instruments and a decorated volume, elements that refer to work, measurement, uprightness and construction. In this reading, the Temple is not merely an architectural space, but can be interpreted as a metaphor for the inner edification of the individual.

Particularly evocative is the presence of skulls, positioned sideways between candles and rocks. Far from being merely macabre elements, they recall the theme of memento mori: the awareness of life's fragility and, consequently, the need to attribute value to time, knowledge and self-work.

The lit candles contribute to the ritual dimension of the image. Small sources of light emerge from the darkness and accompany the central path, suggesting that knowledge is not fully manifested at once, but is acquired progressively, through successive steps.

The entire scene thus appears as a grand initiatic map: from the earthly floor to the staircase, from the Temple to the triangle, up to the luminous Eye that dominates the sky. Each level seems to correspond to a different phase of awareness and approach to the Light.

The contrast between illuminated areas and surrounding darkness gives the composition great depth and a particularly intense presence on stage.
