A remarkably elegant and imposing bronze sculpture of a ballerina, executed in a technically impressive ballet pose in which the back leg is raised nearly vertically.

The slender body shape, the long extended arms, and the face turned upward give the work a beautiful combination of strength, balance and refinement. Especially from different viewing angles, the appearance of the sculpture changes strongly, making it a very sculptural and spatial object.

A striking detail is the richly worked tutu. Its surface has a pronounced, almost organic texture and is finished with a fine greenish patina, which beautifully contrasts with the warm dark bronze hue of the body. Great attention is also paid to the modelling of the face, hands, feet and hair.

The sculpture stands on only one ballet shoe, which gives the composition, despite its substantial size, a striking light and almost weightless appearance.

The sculpture is mounted on a heavy, stepped black natural stone/marble plinth. On the bronze base there is also a signed medallion, clearly depicted in the detail photos.
