Set of 2 vintage IKEA Stämning wall lamps – Cecilia Johansson – 1990s – Space Age / Panton style

Beautiful set of two original vintage IKEA Stämning wall lamps, designed by Cecilia Johansson. A particularly strong and increasingly sought-after IKEA design with a pronounced minimalist and Space Age look.

The lamp consists of a large square plate of white matte/frosted glass, behind which the round light source is visible as a soft, almost floating form. When the lamp is lit, a particularly warm and diffused light effect arises. The combination of the square glass and the round form behind it recalls the expressive language of experimental Scandinavian design from the 60s and 70s and designs from the Verner Panton milieu.

The glass is held in place by four minimalist metal clamps. The metal back is almost entirely hidden from view, giving the wall-mounted lamp a very calm and graphic character.

Both lamps are in good vintage condition, with slight signs of aging and use appropriate for their age. See the detail photos as well. The matte glass gives the lamps their characteristic soft appearance.
