Ripe al Convento 2020 is a prestigious Brunello di Montalcino Reserve produced by Frescobaldi at the CastelGiocondo Estate, a historic property in Montalcino where wine production dates back to the nineteenth century. Frescobaldi
The wine comes from a rigorous selection of Sangiovese from a small vineyard located at about 450 meters above sea level, with a southern exposure and stony soils rich in galestro. The altitude, exposure and the influence of Mediterranean winds contribute to giving the wine elegance, personality and great aging potential.

The harvest is carried out manually, with a first selection directly in the vineyard. Once in the cellar, the grapes are again checked with scrupulous manual sorting of every berry. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel at a controlled temperature, followed by a long maturation period in wood and a further aging in bottle. Ripe al Convento is marketed only in the sixth year after the harvest.

In the glass it presents a bright ruby red with garnet reflections. The bouquet is complex and intense, with aromas of red currant, blueberry, sour cherry and fine cherry, accompanied by floral notes. As it evolves, elegant hints of tobacco and leather emerge, along with spicy nuances of white pepper and nutmeg.

On the palate it shows great structure and balance, with mature, velvety and silky tannins, perfectly integrated. The finish is extremely long and persistent. It is a Brunello Riserva conceived for long bottle aging.
