Rustic small cabinet Luigi Filippo with door and drawer – Italy, 19th century

Authentic rustic cabinet from the Luigi Filippo era, made of solid wood and datable roughly to the mid-19th century. Characterized by sober lines and balanced proportions, it features a wide upper drawer surmounting a paneled squared door, which opens onto a practical interior compartment with a shelf. The rectangular protruding top and the molded band below the drawer recall the essential, functional language of 19th-century popular furniture.

The structure preserves a pleasant antique patina, which enhances the natural grain of the wood and testifies to the long use of the piece. Particularly interesting is the presence of the recessed iron lock and the antique hardware, plausibly original to the period, perfectly coherent with the construction and with the authentic character of the furniture. The back, made with original wooden boards, confirms the traditional craftsmanship of the 19th century.
