Description from the seller
Luigi XV Style Mirror Frame – Carved and Gilded Wood
Elegant mirror frame in finely carved and gilded wood, inspired by the decorative repertoire of Louis XV. The undulating, pierced profile is enriched with refined rocaille motifs, volutes, cartouches and vegetal ornaments that unfold harmoniously along the entire structure, culminating in a scenographic pierced crest.
The rich relief work highlights the quality of the carving and gives depth to the whole, while the gilding, enhanced by a pleasant patina of time, accentuates its decorative character. The sinuous lines and the asymmetric flow faithfully recall the French Rococo taste, reinterpreted according to the decorative tradition between the 19th and 20th centuries.
A piece of great scenic charm, ideal for the reintegration of a mirror or as a refined wall decoration, perfect for classic, eclectic environments and antique collections. It preserves traces of time and use consistent with the age and nature of the object.
