Two Ensign box cameras by Houghton & Butcher, the Ensign Ful-Vue (1939) and Box-Ensign 2-1/4 B (1923), tested and working in very good condition, for 120/220 film and capable of 12 exposures of 6x6 cm and 8 exposures of 6x9 cm respectively.
Description from the seller
Offered are two English ENSIGN box cameras / medium format cameras that work with roll film 120/220. These cameras are made by the English manufacturer Houghton & Butcher.
1) Ensign Ful-Vue is a metal camera made in 1939. So just before WWII. This camera features a very large and also crystal-clear viewfinder. This pre-war model is less common than the post-war model of 1945 and is therefore somewhat more valuable.
Camera can take 12 exposures of 6x6 cm on 120 roll film.
2) Box-Ensign 2-1/4 B is a hard card-board (wood covered with a paper leather-like covering) camera from 1923. This is known because in that year this model appeared with the metal wire finder.
Has a rotating shutter with fixed speed of 1/50 sec. There is an I (instant) or a T (timed) selector switch.
Above the release button there is also a sliding switch that can display 3 different diaphragm openings.
Camera can take 8 exposures of 6x9 cm on 120 roll film.
From both cameras the shutter speeds work very well. Lenses are not scratched, have no fungus.
Opening and closing of the cameras works smoothly. Diaphragms adjust smoothly.
These lovely and collectible cameras should certainly not be missing in your display cabinet or camera collection.
The cameras will be well and securely packed and shipped with a Track & Trace number and insurance.
NOTA :
I always ship my goods with Track & Trace number and insurance to prevent possible damage and theft. This shipment is more expensive and is required by us (sellers) by Catawiki to use.
I also use Catawiki's "Smart Shipping" tool. This has been introduced to obtain cheaper shipping costs with various carriers and mail-order companies.
Everything happens automatically via Catawiki and I only receive digitally a shipping label that I must print and affix to the package.
I use a one-time expense reimbursement of €10 for the time I spend packing, the packing box, the time I spend driving to and from the post office and a contribution to fuel because my car does not run on water.
If you cannot agree with this, please do not place bids.
Thanks in advance.
